Considered something of a luxury only a few years ago, LCD monitors have pretty much become the standard for PC displays. In fact, you'll probably be hard pushed to find a new system that comes with a traditional CRT screen. Now, flat-panel displays are starting to elbow their larger cousins out of the living room in the form of LCD TVs. Although LCD TVs are far more expensive than their CRT counterparts, the extra investment isn't for nothing. Not only are they much thinner and lighter, they often boast more inputs and can deal with much higher picture resolutions than a standard television. Many are even ready for HDTV, when it finally arrives. What's more, by doing away with the need for both a TV and PC monitor, LCD TVs are also the perfect solution if you live in a flat or are pushed for space, for example in student digs.
