Security researchers warned PC users that they could be hacked simply by mistyping a URL while browsing the web. This threat, called 'typosquatting', isn't new - hackers have targetted sloppy typers for years. But the latest attack is particularly worrying because of the large number of URLs involved. According to security experts at US company Endgame, criminals have set up fake URLs ending in '.om', which is the domain suffix for Oman - the equivalent of'.uk' for the United Kingdom.
