DAF Trucks is to retain the pricing for all new UK truck orders in the wake of uncertainty ahead of Britain leaving the EU in 2021. DAF will secure pricing for LF, CF and XF models built by the end of February 2021, despite the threat of import tariffs that could see prices rocket. Orders for the remainder of 2020 are already full, so the news gives customers the chance to secure vehicles without the fear of price rises. DAF Trucks sales director, Russell Patmore (pictured) said: "In addition to the fears brought about by the ongoing health emergency in the UK, operators also face Brexit anxieties. The potential consequences of tariffs have contributed to a strong order intake and production slots for this year are now filled. As a UK manufacturer, if tariffs are imposed they will be far less impactful than those experienced by our competitors on whole-vehicle imports. Despite the fact that truck prices are expected to increase in the UK in general, we're prepared to commit to firm competitive pricing."
