Carrier transicold is about to commence field trials of its first CNG-powered fridge motor for use on gas-powered trucks. The unit, which sources its fuel from the truck's tank, has been developed primarily for use on the new Iveco Eurocargo. As well as being cheaper to run than diesel-powered fridges, Carrier predicts it will be 50% quieter too, making it ideal for night-time urban deliveries.
