Abbey and British Sugar sign sweet deal

Abbey logistics group has won the contract to move bulk sugar for British Sugar following a competitive tender in what is described as a 'long-term deal'. Abbey will be responsible for transport planning and delivery services at the sugar producer, which supplies one million tonnes of sugar a year to the food industry and supermarkets. Sugar will be transported in bulk granulated sugar tanks and liquid tankers from four UK processing plants.
