摘要

A transport minister has criticised the state of rest facilities and said women are being put off from driving HGVs for a living because they would have to "relieve themselves behind a bush". Claire Perry MP said it had been a challenge to recruit and retain drivers following the financial crash and that the cost of training was being addressed to see if it could be made more acceptable. Speaking in a parliamentary debate, Perry said: "As the only lady in the room who represents a constituency, may I say that women do not want to be long-distance drivers partly because some of the rest facilities are atrocious?
