Report highlights need for robust response to West African attacks

Piracy incidents reported in the first nine months of 2012 were the lowest since 2008. But the welcome reduction in attacks by Somali pirates, mostly due to the efforts of the international navies patrolling the region and the increased use of onboard private security teams, was offset by the increased number of attacks in West Africa.
