UK cyber insurance payout rates hit 99% but uptake still low

THE Association of British Insurershas, for the first time, revealed that 99percent of claims made (205 out of207) on ABI-member cyber insurancepolicies in 2018 were paid.This is one of the highest claimsacceptance rates across allinsurance products.Despite this, the take-up rate ofcyber insurance by businesses inthe UK is still worryingly low, withthe overall market size estimated atless than a tenth of the size of theUK’s pet insurance market.
