Exhaust finishing of cotton fabric vis-a-vis padding

The exhaust finishing of the cotton fabric seem to give promising results vis-a-vis those obtained by padding technique making the formal method applicable in finishing of garments. Out of the three finishing agents studied, Natrium CRA which is nonformadehyde type finishing agent, seem to exhibit excellent performance properties. However, it requires the addition of Sarasoft EP, a polyethylene emulsion, in order to counter the strength loss. The softness as well as whiteness of the fabric finished with Natrium CRA were quite satisfactory and the crease recovery angle were the highest among the three finishing agents tried.
