摘要

Yarn quality has a direct bearing on the manufacturing performance of the fabric and the quality of the end product. Historically ring spinning methods have yielded better results through optimization of the process parameters. However, yarn hairiness, and strength could not be improved significantly. With advent of compact spinning technology, there has been tremendous improvement in yarn quality resulting in an opportunity to produce better quality textile products. Compact spinning Technology mainly aims at the elimination of Spinning triangle which is existing'on the present Ring Spinning Technology. In this pursuit, innovation in machinery design and process optimization has held paramount importance. In the present article, some of the important aspects of compact spinning with regard to the comparative advantages are discussed. Based on the literature, some of the salient points have been brought out to bring home a comparison between the ring spinning and compact spinning.
