Kerala-based Kitex Garments Ltd has said that it has dropped expansion plans in the state and was instead looking at overseas, including Sri Lanka and China, for setting up production centres. The Rs 550-crore company blamed non-renewal of its licence and delay in approvals for certain works for shelving its expansion plans in Kochi, which were to have been taken up at a cost of Rs 262 crore.
