One of the chief differences between the 1954 mergers of Nash with Hudson and Stude-baker with Packard was the speed at which the new companies integrated operations to achieve the economies that were the reason for merging in the first place. Nash and Hudson linked up on May 1, 1954, and by the end of the year all Hudson automobile production had been moved from Detroit to the big Nash plant in Wisconsin. In addition, the senior Hudson cars were redesigned on the Nash body shell for 1955, while the Hudson Jet compact was replaced by a badge-engineered Hudson Rambler. There was even a Hudson Metropolitan for sale starting in mid 1954.
