GM Stands For 'Generous Models'

When a topic as broad as General Motors cars of 1959 is featured, one can expect a lot of models to be found. Even after skimming off the specialty Chevrolet Corvette, there are still too many to even hope to be able to list them all; these cars were—and are— very popular with model companies. The '59 Chevrolet is currently a hot topic among the manufacturers of diecast models. A prominent newcomer is West Coast Precision Models (see Vicki's Gifts). Its 1/24-scale Impala two-door hardtop and convertible feature nice detail throughout, plus a choice of authentic single- and two-tone color schemes (some of which may be sold out, however). Danbury Mint will be offering a convertible in the same scale, and for the collector who believes that bigger is better, Yat Ming's Road Signature series features a 1/18-scale Impala ragtop in various colors with a choice of top up or down. (Be aware that these models come with fender skirts molded in.)
