摘要

It was with great excitement that I read your article titled "First at Last: The Story of Pontiac in Canada, 1926-65" in the October 2008 issue. I was, however, a bit disappointed that R. Perry Zavitz led the reader to believe that after 1965 with the signing of the Auto Pact "Pontiac would scale back the number of distinctive models it offered in the Dominion." This was not the case. The "bread and butter" cars for Pontiac in Canada continued to be the Strato Chief, Lauren-tian, Parisienne, Grand Parisienne, and the muscular 2+2 (all available with 427 powerplants) up until 1970 (where 454 engines were offered). Only in the 1970 model year were the American models priced to compete with our Canadian counterparts.
