2009-12 Cadillac CTS-V: The Family that Plays Together

When the Cadillac CTS-V made its debut in mid 2004, it arrived as the second half of a formidable one-two punch. The first half was the mainstream 2003 CTS, an all-new midsize sedan that ushered in Cadillac's radical "Art and Science" look. This hard-edged styling motif was a decisive break from past Cadillacs, and it singlehandedly set the mold for the brand's future design direction. The V built on that gutsy design statement with a serious infusion of raw horsepower and performance in the form of a 400-bhp 5.7-liter V-8 borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette and (gasp!) a mandatory manual transmission.
