I truly enjoyed the article on the 1964-1967 Buick Specials and Skylarks by Don Keefe in the most recent issue (CA, August 2015). As Don stated, each A-body offering reflected the identity of its parent division. This was particularly true for Buick as these cars were marketed as the premium choice over its other GM brethren, particularly with the Skylark. Buick went out of their way to add a touch of elegance to their offerings such as full spinner wheel covers as standard equipment on some Skylarks, as well as hood ornaments and other trimmings that promoted the premium vibe. Of course, the traditional Buick ventiports were accounted for that allowed their owners to say that "I am driving a Buick!" Of particular note, the 1967 Skylark came with standard rear fender skirts, which really didn't get mentioned in the article, and to me they were the most noticeable exterior update. I am not a huge fan of rear fender skirts because many applications look like they were "added on" but in this case they appear to be part of the integral design element of the car that gives it a classy look. Pontiac would add this design feature in the next-generation "A" body with the Grand LeMans.
