For a broad overview of models most likely to appeal to collectors, we've selected mainly convertibles and two-door hardtops; you can extrapolate down for sedans and wagons. We've also compared closely related but different types: the standard Valiant convertible versus the Signet; Thunderbird convertible versus Sports Roadster. We include big-block specials, the Dodge Ramcharger 426 and Pontiac Super Duty 421. In general, many bargains exist-by which we mean cars (even convertibles) that you can buy in "high 2" or better condition for less than $20,000. The compacts of 1963 have not risen much. Even the technically interesting, fun-to-drive Corvair Monza Spyder is not costly, if you settle for the coupe. Big open land yachts generally command $40,000 or more, however.
