NUMERICAL MODELING OF THE TEE THERMAL DIFFUSER IN COASTAL REGIONS

Mixing of the heated water discharged from a tee thermal diffuser is analyzed using the three-dimensional grid-based numerical model. The discharge momentum flux is incorpo- rated properly into the model by adopting the concept of the numerical slot diffuser with the multiple jet theory. A line patch is introduced to impose the discharge momentum flux, which plays an important role in the mixing of the heated water discharged from the multiport diffuser in the near field.
