This guide to professional discipline and healthcare regulators is aimed at registrants and their representatives (legal, lay and union). The layout and format make it an ideal guide for the target audience. It amply fulfils the intention, set out in the authors' introduction to provide both a quick reference to FTP (Fitness to Practice) procedures as well as more detail as required. After the first chapter on the applicable law there is a chapter dedicated to each of five main (in the view of the authors) healthcare regulators. The book concludes with a chapter dedicated to the Independent Safeguarding Authority and one to linked litigation and other cross-cutting issues. nnEach chapter begins with a summary, providing key information that is common to each regulator (including official terminology, notice requirements, sanctions and costs) and introductory paragraphs. Detailed information follows of the full FTP procedure adopted by the regulators including advice on matters such as disclosure and format and provision of witness evidence, fully referenced back to the law in chapter one. The format fulfils the authors' intention and enables registrants and practitioners to obtain an overview before delving into the detail of the practice and procedures at each tribunal.
