Dvaluation of a turbidimetric method for immunoglobulin determination in cerebrospinal fluid

In this comparative study the concentrations of the immunoglobulins IgG, IgA and IgM in cerebrospinal fluid were determined by a turbidimetric assay (Hitachi 917) and a nephelometric assay (BNA 100). A good correlation with corresponding correlation coefficients was found between the measured IgG and IgA concentrations (r= 0.98 for IgG and r=0.921 for IgA). In contrast, the correlation coefficient for the IgM concentrations (r=0.480) ws moderate.
