PARTNERSHIP REPORT SEES 1.6 MILLION HYDROGEN FCVS IN THE UK BY 2030

Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) are part of the portfolio of transportation options that will be required to decarbonize road transport in the United Kingdom (UK). Successful commercialization will require the establishment of a hydrogen refueling infrastructure to support vehicle sales. This necessitates a coordinated approach involving many parties from different sectors acting together. In 2012, the government organized the UK H_2Mobility project, which groups 11 leading businesses from the automotive, energy, infrastructure and retail sectors with three government agencies-the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills; the Department for Transport; and the Department for Energy and Climate Change-plus the European Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Joint Undertaking.
