Primus Green Energy Inc., an advanced alternative fuel company based in Hillsborough, New Jersey, has announced it will provide financial support to engineers at nearby Princeton University for general research on synthetic fuels, which will include assessments of various gas-to-liquid (GTL) technologies for sustainability and economic viability. The work at Princeton University will emphasize process synthesis and design, interaction of process design and control, and process operations. Primus proprietary steam driven, fluidized bed biomass gasification technology converts biomass, such as pellets made from wood waste or energy crops such as Miscanthus, into a syngas that can be transformed into transportation fuels.
