摘要

New coal plants planned in Texas will not cause significant air quality deterioration in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, according to a new study. Air regulators in Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) are struggling to find ways to bring the area into attainment with the 8-hour ozone standard by 2009. These efforts are complicated by proposed coal-fired power plants. Modeling released by Environ International in April suggested six proposed power plants near DFW will have a limited impact on local air quality, but as many as 17 new projects are now on the table.
