The European Commission (EC) has confirmed it has met all the targets set out in its Circular Economy Action Plan, launched in 2015. In a review published in March, the EC assessed its own progress against 54 actions set out in the plan, which have all now been completed or are being implemented. Among the goals were: the intention to emphasise circular economy principles in new regulations relating to product design; widening the scope of rules governing environmentally friendly TVs and monitor manufacture; and integrating circular thinking into best- practice guidelines for metals, water and animal farming.
