I write in response to the letter from BP which appeared in the letters page of the November 2006 issue of CIWM. BP seems very keen to blame the public for a lack of recycling initiatives and says that he/she should "...take to the streets to demand weekly plastics and cans collections." I wonder if he/she has tried this at all? When I contacted our local council (Kettering Borough Council) to request an additional green waste bin,owing to the large quantitites of garden waste our lawn produces each week in the summer, I was told I could not have one.
