The scottish Waste and Resources Awards winners were honoured at a gala dinner in Glasgow last week. John Summers OBE, chairman of the Scottish Waste & Resources Steering Committee, hosted the event, while Scottish TV personality, Kaye Adams, presented the awards.rnThe award for Best Private Sector Initiative was presented to Keenan Recycling Ltd for delivering a market-leading solution and raising the bar for organic recycling in Scotland. Perth and Kinross Council collected the Best Local Authority Initiative award for enabling greater community involvement in recycling and waste prevention through its Community Waste Grant Scheme.rnWinner of the Best Community Sector Initiative was Recycle Fife for creating training and employment opportunities through the delivery of recycling services and the award for Best Partnership Initiative went to Grangemouth Enterprises Ltd for its role in a partnership with Falkirk Council, to provide employment and training opportunities to young school leavers in the field of waste and resource management.
