Covanta's RRF Submission

Covanta Energy has submitted a Development Consent Order for a resource recovery facility (RRF) at the Rookery South Pit location, near Stewartby in Bedfordshire. The site will consist of an energy from waste and materials recovery facility and is expected to help divert around 585 000 tonnes of waste from landfill every year. It will also generate enough electricityrnto meet the needs of Bedford andMarston Vale (more than 82 000 homes), s well as creating several long-term jobs for local residents.
