"The company demonstrated a clear commitment to deliver zero waste and a clear process to help clients manage their waste," the judges said of DS Smith, which collects and processes 5.4m tonnes of paper every year. It diverts a further 250,000 tonnes of other recyclables from landfill, including plastics, metals, WEEE, glass and food waste by securing end markets for all materials.
