There are many important economic, environmental and legislative reasons for reducing waste and making the best use of materials that might otherwise go to landfill. These apply to every facet of the built environment, from clearing the site for a new development to drawing up an organisation's waste management strategy. Every company has a duty of care to ensure waste generated from their day-to-day business activities is disposed of in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. While the some members of some industries may simply throw their waste into a skip and let the skip hire company deal with it, the construction and demolition sectors have taken their responsibilities a step further.
