In the last issue's letters page we brought you a sample of the responses we'd received when asking what you would do, given ultimate power in the industry, in 2014. This issue, here's a sample of what it is you hope and expect the year ahead to hold... In 20141 expect... that the industry will continue to develop soundly and with the financial support from governments and local authorities, but without unnecessary interference from The European Commissions. That the processing of wastes will allow commingled collection and thorough sorting with the residues going to gasification or incineration to provide a source of power. That the recyclable components will be thoroughly sorted and recovered and that the markets for these resources will continue to develop, and that these markets are regional rather than requiring shipping over long distances.
