South African company, AgriProtein, has developed a revolutionary insect based nutrient recycling technology to utilise organic waste and turn it into multiple renewable resources, including animal feed ingredient, organic fertiliser and animal feed ingredient/biodiesel. Offering a sustainable alternative for domestic and industrial organic waste producers, its first factory has the capacity to process up to 100 tonnes of organic waste a day, which equals a reduction to waste in landfills by 35,000m~3 per year and environmental savings of more than $112m.
