At The Centre Of CIWM

I AM a Chartered Waste Manager, having worked in the industry for 19 years, with 11 years spent in operations and the last eight in consultancy. I have always been an active member of CIWM, firstly in the North West of England and latterly in Wales, where I have recently been nominated as a Centre Councillor. Following on from a Centre Council strategy meeting towards the end of 2014, I am now responsible for assisting with organising events for the Welsh Centre Council region. In my position as Centre Councillor I have performed a number of roles, including delivering membership upgrade workshops, sitting on Chartered Waste Manager interview panels and, more recently, assisting with the development and staging of events that reflect the current strategies and practices within the industry. The work is looking to achieve the development of the waste and resources sector in terms of employee and industry professionalism, which includes the delivering of events to ensure continual improvement and best practice is achieved.
