Poulter is CIWM's new CEO

The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM) announced on 7 May that Sarah Poulter would be its new chief executive officer. She takes on the role after sharing the position of executive director with Chris Murphy. In a statement, the Institution said: 'As a result of the restructure, the post of deputy chief executive no longer exists and, therefore, with reluctance, we must announce that Chris Murphy is leaving the CIWM. 'CIWM is going through a period of change and restructure, and - despite the best efforts of those involved - it is with regret that trustees have decided that the joint executive director arrangement was not an efficient way of working.' The Institution thanked Murphy for his long years of service to it and the sector, and expressed the hope that there would be other ways to work with him in the future.
