摘要

In the construction sector, productivity is mainly enhanced by new construction methods and innovative machine technology while designing the manufacturing process often is disregarded. This is a contradiction to the Lean Principles, adapted from stationary industry. It can be traced back to the Toyota Production System as well as the Lean Production that developed out of it. Lean Production has found its way into stationary industry for several years. From Lean Production the principle of Lean Management with its keynote Lean Thinking was derived. The adaption of this approach to the construction sector is called Lean Construction. Lean Construction is based on the value-added process, tries to avoid waste and facilitates a continuous workflow. The transfer of this industrial production methodology to the construction industry is still seen critical especially in practice because of the prevailing opinion construction is a unique production. However, closer investigations revealed that even within unique constructions a large number of recurring process steps can be identified [1].
