In "terraforming," a concept well known to science fiction fans, the surface, atmosphere, and vegetation of a planet or a planet's satellite are deliberately modified to make themrnmore like those of Earth and therefore more conducive to human habitation.rnThe type of forming treated in this work, while not nearly so exotic, has some similar goals and, done properly, can yield cost-effective, graded slopes in harmony with their natural surroundings. Landforming presents the first comprehensive, hands-on instruction guide for this emerging discipline.
