A difficult intersection ofrnInterstate 87-the New YorkrnState Thruway-with Interstatern84 in Newburgh, New York,rnrequired travelers to use a shortrnstretch of a local road for ingressrnand egress, tying up local trafficrnand creating long backups on therninterstates. A newly designedrninterchange project not onlyrnprovided more direct connectionsrnand a smoother flow of traffic, itrnalso included environmentallyrnfriendly buildings within thernsite that will house toll roadrnmaintenance operations, a policernheadquarters, and a tandemrntrucking assembly station.
