Report Proposes 'Commonsense' Reforms For Improving Water, Wastewater Systems

In a sign that the nation s aging infrastructure is attracting increased attention from think tanks, the Center for American Progress, of Washington, D.C., recently issued a report suggesting several ways to improve drinking water and wastewater facilities nationwide. In addition to calling for increased federal spending for state revolving fund (SRF) programs, the report recommends several "commonsense reforms" intended to ensure that available funding is allocated as judiciously and cost-effectively as possible.
