Geoenvironmental Engineering contains eight peer-reviewed papers assembled in honor of David E. Daniel, Ph.D., P.E., NAE. Daniel is considered a founding father of geoenvironmental engineering, an interdisciplinary professional domain at the nexus of geotechnical, geological, and environmental engineering. The papers in this Geotechnical Special Publication (GSP) describe case histories of engineered barriers, as well as fundamental studies on laboratory methods to measure hydraulic conductivity, chemical transport through vertical barriers, and the fundamental behavior of active clays used for engineered barriers. GSP 274 will be of interest to geotechnical, environmental, and geologic researchers and practitioners working in the field of waste containment.
