Optimality of the Median Filtering Operator

摘要

The generalized deviation between a discrete bi-valued input signal of stack filtering operators and its output is defined and used for measuring the capabilities of these filtering operators for removing noise in signals. Under the minimal generalized deviation criterion we prove that the median filtering operator is optimal among the stack filtering operators. We also obtain some properties of the median filtering operator and give some methods for better use of this operator.
