Automation of the in-process inspection of thick-film hybrid circuits has become a reality with the recent advances in machine vision. Several companies offer systems to perform this task, each with their own approach to this problem. An analysis of any machine vision system for hybrid inspection must include an analysis of the image acquisition and the image analysis. This paper will discuss both.
