Have you ever sat around and thought to yourself, "It would be really nice to have an optical-based blood pressure monitor handy?" No? Well, now you do! For our senior design course at Cornell University, we developed the Scan-E Mark I, which is a new embedded device for the average person who sits around wishing they had a way to measure their blood pressure optically and not deal with those pesky blood pressure cuffs. The Scan-E Mark I is a user-friendly (loosely defined), painless, and stylish way to check out your blood pressure on the fly! It's a noninvasive, optically based blood pressure and heart rate detector that can be used quickly and easily.
