I guess I am as keen and (self-) interested as the next guy when it comes to saving the planet, but can I be the only one who finds the so-called compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) that we are now being more or less compelled to buy to be completely unfit for purpose? They take minutes to warm up and give their full light output, and the largest ones you can buy don't really compare with proper 100 watt incandescent lamps. I am one of those people who moves from room to room around the house switching lights on and off as I go, and the delayed switch on of CFLs just don't suit my lifestyle -1 also use a whole 150 watt lamp in the office and confess to hoarding incandescent bulbs ready for the time when they are no longer available!
