'To Walk Out': Rural Parents' Views on Education

摘要

This paper provides rural parents' interpretations of their culture of modernisation through descriptions of their life experiences and their aspirations for their children within the context of China's rapid socioeconomic development. Rural parents in my study echoed the policy discourse about the importance of education in creating a modern society.
