摘要

Use of new-generation sealing materials necessitates review of the existing designs of gland chambers. In particular, their depth must be reduced because fewer sealing elements are required for sealing. Thanks to the high plasticity of the new-generation materials based on HEG and PTFE, it becomes unnecessary to have on the face wall a gland chamber and a clamping sleeve of the chamfers (bevels), which shorten the life of the gland seal and increases wear of the protection sleeve of the shaft. Most effective is the use of the new-generation sealing materials in the form of special sets that include sealing elements of different makes as well as various types of materials and their combinations.
