DETERMINATION OF THE MOLECULAR MASS AND DENSITY OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS WITH THE POLOTSK COMPUTER SYSTEM

In the Polotsk computer system (CS) developed for approximate analysis of the fractional composition of petroleum products, a strain gauge sensor measures the excess vapor pressure in the distillation flask, which is provided with a capillary in the vapor inlet. Figure 1 shows the Polotsk CS analyzer, which was produced by the Izmeritel' Works (Novopolotsk) and an analyzer made in conjunction with the ISL company (France). An improved computer system to determine the fraction composition, density, and molecular mass of petroleum products is to be manufactured at a plant in Saint Petersburg. Further development of the Polotsk system should be linked to the creation of custom-made algorithms for solving various analytical and technological problems of petroleum refining, petrochemistry, and related industries.
