ON THE FORMATION OF FUNNELS IN DRAINAGE OF LIQUIDS

A mathematical model of rotating liquid formed in the drainage of liquid that makes it possible to explain the reasons for the formation of funnels and the reason for the increase in the capacity of drainage holes with the use of nozzles is constructed. It is shown that funnels may be used to clean water from grease stains. Possible causes for one of the paradoxes of the Rank-Hilsch vortex tube are indicated.
