This year's conference of course did not grow as observed during the first 4 years, but with a total number of attendees and speakers of about 190, the conference met the level of attention achieved in the past. Also, the move from Hangzhou to Shanghai, where the conference host CCFEI coordinated with the Minya Hotel located in Pudong, was seen as very positive. The speakers reported on the impact of the crisis on the Chinese polyester and recycling industry. Lin Shidong, CCFA Recycled Fiber Commission, with his contribution "Strategies of CCFA recycled fiber commission in the aftermath of the global financial turmoil", provided a deep insight to the shape and performance of the Chinese polyester recycling industry concentration this year to standardization, innovation, cooperation and development.
