Teijin Frontier Co. Ltd., Tokyo/Japan, the Teijin Group's fiber-products converting company, has developed a high-performance stretch fiber called Solotex OO that features the superior elasticity of elastane with the soft texture and shape stability of the PTT fiber. By combining Teijin Frontier's Solotex PTT fiber and Asahi Kasei's Roica elastane fiber, Solotex OO achieves excellent elasticity in a soft, lightweight, and shape-stable fiber perfect for underwear applications. Clothes made with Solotex OO enable wearers to move comfortably and to easily slip in and out of even tight-fitting designs. Optional capabilities like high-level thermal insulation, UV shielding, absorbency, quick-drying, and non-translucency can easily be added to the fiber, widening the scope of applications and suitable markets.
