摘要

A saddle-distorted dodecaphenylporphyrin undergoes protonation followed by two-electron reduction by SnCl_2 to give a roof-shaped dodecaphenylporphodimethene which exhibits reversible one-electron reduction and oxidation behaviour in benzonitrile to allow us to observe an ESR spectrum of π-cation radical in the course of electrochemical oxidation.rnPorphyrins can undergo reduction to produce a variety of hydroporphyrins including chlorin whose magnesium complex is chlorophyll which is a component of light-harvesting antennas complexes in photosystems for photosynthesis.
