摘要

The synthesis, isolation and characterization of a previously undiscovered bimetallic endohedral fullerene, PrSc@C_(80), are presented, and this may pave the way for a whole family of bimetallic endohedral fullerenes in useful quantities.rnEndohedral fullerenes, where atoms, ions or clusters are confined within the interior of a fullerene cage, may be suitable for applications such as quantum information processing, magnetic resonance imaging and organic photovoltaic devices. This arises from the desirable optical, electronic or paramagnetic properties that such species offer.
